The Art
of Becoming

Never finished. Always evolving.

Step inside

I · The person

Barber. Builder.
Founder.

Nine years of craft behind the chair. Now I build for businesses.

II · The discipline

I train like
I work.

Boxing, calisthenics, Japanese, a book in progress. Small things, done daily.

III · The work

Understand first.
Then build.

Websites, booking systems and automation that fix real problems.

IV · The path

Never
finished.

Behind

I’m Zain. Shaped by the different places and environments I’ve lived and worked in.

24. Nine years as a barber. In 2023 I ran my own business for six months. Now I build digital experiences for businesses.

I

Different environments

I’ve lived and worked in very different environments. Each one taught me to adapt fast and pay attention to people.

II

The chair

About nine years as a barber. Level 2 in Hairdressing and Level 2 in Barbering. Delivery, hospitality and warehouse work along the way. The chair taught me more than cutting hair:

  • Listening
  • Reading people
  • Trust
  • Detail
  • Pressure
  • Craft
III

The shift

Then technology. I learn by building real things for real businesses, and I start with what the business needs before I choose a tool. I’m still learning, and I won’t pretend otherwise.

IV

What I bring

Craft from the chair. Lessons from running a business. Skills I’m building every day. I bring all three to every project.

I’m not an expert in everything. I’m good at learning, spotting the problem and finding a way through.

    How I can
    help

I start by understanding how your business runs. Then I build what actually helps, and I’m honest about what I’m still learning.

    1. Premium websites

Sites that feel premium and are easy to use on a phone.

    2. Booking systems

Appointments, artists, deposits, cancellations and admin in one place.

    3. Customer-focused features

Things customers actually use: live waiting times, loyalty, reviews.

    4. AI-assisted automation

Taking repeat admin off your plate. I’m early in this, so we start small and prove it works.

      In progress

    5. Problem-first thinking

Before I suggest anything, I find out what is actually slowing your business down.

      How every project starts

    6. Creative direction and interactive experiences

A clear visual identity and memorable moments, like the 3D on this page.

    Proof
    of work

Two things I’ve built. One is client work and one is my own agency. Each is labelled.

    Client project · in development
    The problem
Customers want to know how long the wait is. The owner wants one place to run the shop.
    The approach
Start with how the shop actually runs, then build around those problems instead of a template.
    The solution
Live waiting-time information, a management dashboard, AI hairstyle exploration, digital loyalty, services and pricing, Google reviews and product promotion. It works well on a phone.

    My agency · in development
    The problem
An agency site that only looks good doesn’t show how the agency thinks.
    The approach
Lead with the problem, not a list of services. Japanese-inspired and premium, but still easy to read.
    The solution
A cinematic hero, GSAP scroll animations, a responsive layout and interactive moments.

    The code
    I live by

I’d rather show it than say it. And I’d rather understand the problem than rush to sell an answer.

    1. 規律 01 / 05

      Discipline

Doing it on the days I don’t feel like it. The chair, the gym and the keyboard all ask for the same thing.

    2. 責任 02 / 05

      Responsibility

If it’s mine, it’s mine to fix. I’d rather own a mistake than explain it.

    3. 自立 03 / 05

      Independence

Work it out myself first. Ask for help when I need it, not before.

    4. 改善 04 / 05

      Improvement

Never finished. Small corrections, repeated, until the work looks effortless.

    5. 匠 05 / 05

      Craftsmanship

A fade is judged in millimetres. I try to hold everything I make to that standard.

    Also: loyalty, honesty, self-respect, curiosity.

Not where I’ve arrived. Where I’m heading.

    1. 01 / 06

Get better at the craft, one real project at a time.

    2. 02 / 06

Grow TSUGI by solving real problems for local businesses.

    3. 03 / 06

Build digital products that are actually useful.

    4. 04 / 06

Become financially independent, on my own terms.

    5. 05 / 06

Keep training, in body and in discipline.

    6. 06 / 06

Understand people better: how they think and how they decide.

None of this is done. That’s the point.
